Further WoW Woes...
Well... As posted in my last journal, my WoW account and the email account that it is registered to were both hacked into early on Sunday January 3rd. As detailed in my last post, I took all the required steps to re-secure my email account as well as my other online accounts and was only able to get access back to WoW after several days of waiting.
When I did get access to my account, I discovered that my characters Felici, Pandemos, Ellyse, and Xarastina on the Dawnbringer Realm had all been deleted. Furthermore, my main character on the Dawnbringer Realm, Elly, was stripped of all of the gear that could be vendored. Her bags were and bank were also completely emptied and replaced with an extremely high number of high auction house value items. Once I discovered that, I submitted a ticket to Blizz to have the items removed and to hopefully get my characters and gear restored. I recieved an email after a couple of days indicating that it would take up to 9 days for the investigation.
Well... Today, Friday January 8th, I went to log into WoW to see if any progress had been made and to play one of my remaining low level characters if Elly was still in an unplayable status... When I logged in, I received a notice that my account had been PERMANENTLY CLOSED. Needless to say, that has me rather pissed off as I have done nothing wrong. On January 1st, I ordered 2 Blizzard authenticators to help protect both Ceestar42's and My accounts from just this kind of thing... I spent 4 hours on hold to speak with 2 phone reps to try to get this resolved on Sunday the 3rd... And have patiently waited while they investigated... Just to have my account permanently closed without them even contacting me for further information.
Presently the only way to get an account restored, apparently, is through the WoW Account Management group which does not have any means of being contacted other than an email address. I have sent a rather lengthy email to this address tonight in hopes of appealing the account closure and getting my account back. At this point, I honestly don't care if I get the deleted characters or gear back. I don't even care if they take what little gear that Elly has left as well as what little gold she has, as long as they give me access to my account back. I have put 4 years into that characters, slowly grinding through rep, quests, and achievements, not to mention collecting Mounts and Novelty Pets. While I could likely, with the assistance of my guildies, grind a new character back up to max level and gear in a few weeks... It would take far longer than that to re-acquire all the reputations, quest completions, pets, mounts, and achievements, some of which are not longer even available...
