Are you fucking KIDDING me???

If this woman is elected to be second in line to rule the free world (aka John McCain drops dead, which, let's be honest, men in their 70s do all the time)...I don't think there's anything left to do other than leave the country.
Just donated to the Obama campaign...which I said I wasn't going to do because I don't have the money to just throw to arrogant politicians....however the prospect of ^^ in the whitehouse....is the scarriest piece of news I have heard in a very very long time.

Criticism by request:

While Sarah Palin is a very charming woman, she is frighteningly unqualified to be the Vice President of the United States. She has been the governor of Alaska for less than two years: a state ranked 48th out of 56th in population with 683,478 people, according to a 2007 census (including US territories) -- smaller than the 16 largest cities in the US.  [http://www.census.gov/]. Governor Palin has an undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Idaho, but her education ends here, as she returned to Alaska to raise a family of five (a very honroable, selfless act) with her high school sweet heart Todd Palin, a commercial fisherman. She is currently under investigation for abusing her power as governor when she fired Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan.[www.wikipedia.org], [Associated Press].

While her lack of experience and qualification are hard to dispute, my personal bias toward her positions on oil drilling in the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge, her desire to repeal Roe v. Wade, teach creationism in public schools, opposition to same-sex marriage, lifelong membership to the NRA, and support of the death penalty, must be noted. These are not things I support, and are reasons why I am voting for Obama. [www.ontheissuses.org]

Picking Sarah Palin as McCain's VP is a risky yet brilliant move by the McCain campaign strategists, most likely including Carl Rove, the man who brought us eight disasterous years of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.  It is designed to draw in Democrats upset over Hilary Clinton's defeat and challenge the Democrats' historic primary season by making Governor Palin the first female Vice Presidential nominee. Last night Barack Obama oficially accepted the Democratic nomination becomming the first African American man chosen to be the Presidential nominee in history. Hilary Clinton also recieved more votes in the Primary race than any other woman in history. [www.cnn.com].

While I congratulate Senator McCain's campaign for it's progressive and unexpected nomination of a woman, I am strongly disappointed in their choice of this particular woman. She does not have the educational background or experience to take on the responsibility of being second in line as our next Commander in Chief. This was clearly a manipulative move by a party desperate to regain standing in one of the most important elections of American history.

horror, 2008 election
