1980 - Alfred Hitchcock was knighted.
1987 - Aretha Franklin became the first woman inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Among the 14 others also inducted was Bill Haley.

Actually I feel like a snob for even posting them, because I feel like I was completely spoiled with such exotic gifts...but hey. Equalizing factor is that it's a pretty shitty picture of me. In my opinion anyway.
