One More Sleep!
One more sleep then I'm on Vacation!
I'll be working tommorow (July 5), but getting off work early (2? 3? pm) and driving to BC.
Going to stop and visit my mother, she doesnt live to far (2hrs?) from where we take off from the houseboat.
Sunday (July 8) we drive over and get on the houseboat. A week on the houseboat and we get off on sunday (July 15) - head back to my mothers house - visit for the rest of the day (or rest) and then back home on monday (July 16).
I have tuesday (July 17) off to recover from the trip before heading back in.
We've been going on the houseboat every year seince before we got married!
Mind you in some respects its more of a change of pace than a 'vacation'. The houseboat is actually a lot of work - cooking, cleaning and (most important) watching the kids. When we went on houseboat prior to having kids ya it was a more kick back and relax thing - but we cant really do that any more - its more about the kids and thier vacation now. But thats ok, I had a number of years without them to have fun and now I get to spend a week hanging out and spending time with them - I'm looking forward to it!
I've been dealing with a crisis at work where a server died - there were no backups of the data and even with profesional (thousands $) recovery services there will still be some data loss.
I still don't have a boss, and people are asking some hard questions it is difficult if not impossible for me to answer. I am unlikely to loose my job over this - but the possibility does exist... sigh. Its been a stressful time since June 22th at work. Sigh
