SO ... I was meant to do this ages ago, but I am slack. And now I have to do it before this next engagement party, so I can actually distinguish between stuff.
I had some idea of how Natalie's engagement party was going to work, because I went round to her house the night before, and found all the barbeque stuff out the back, and lights everywhere, all partied up. When I had dinner at her place we also settled on times for me to get there and who we were hoping would come, etc.
So I got to her place at about 5pm Saturday [just gone] and was directed into her room. There was air con going, thank god, and she was doing someone else's hair ... apparently Alan's aunt or someone? I don't know, I don't remember any of the people that I met there, apart from the ones I already knew. Then she did my make up and hair, though I laughed so hardcore when she just put my hair up in a high ponytail. God, I used to do that all the time, s'not like I couldn't have done it myself, or whatever. But yea, that amused me.
Natalie's family and Alan's family were already there, and so were relatives that I didn't know. My family didn't turn up until about 6:30, so I sat around talking with the Schultz's. It was very weird, because I haven't seen Dale (the eldest) in a very long time, and he looks so much like Debbie (his mother) it freaks me out. Tony though, second eldest, was as gay as ever, and just as cheery as when I visited him in London. Chris was deadshit as ever, and thankfully didn't have much to do with me. I did find out that he's been an alcoholic since he was about 3 years old though, when he got drunk from taking too many sips from too many people's wine glasses at a wedding though. Hmmm.
My little brother decided to show off when he pulled up (and then again when he left) with his stupid new car that makes too much noise. Thankfully bubby neffy was there, so I got to cuddle Lachlan quite a lot that night. I even took him for a walk down the street with Madison when mum and Megan asked me too (I presume to calm him down from the party? IDEK). That was quite fun actually, because he's such a cute baby. And my sister isn't such a little shit when he's around, so that was a nice 'bonding' moment for the aunts. XD
Sadly not as many people turned up as we had hoped. There was enough food to feed an army, though my brother did try and eat them out of house and home. I helped, of course. XD It was all really good - though I feel sorry for Natalie and the unnecessary stress of having to cook and organise your engagement party. Blerg.
There was a lot of sitting around and talking. Natalie broke out the fruity champagne stuff for us to share, though I had to be careful since I would need to drive later. I preferred the punch, because that tasted nicer. That ended with a nasty huge fucking fly landing in my half finished glass though, at one stage. Eww.
We broke out the karaoke some time near 10pm, which ended up being great fun. None of my family got up and sung, coz they're lame and cowards. But Natalie and I did 'Waterloo' and I did terribly. XD But Tony and Dale would do sing offs, and that was quite entertaining. Chris was surprisingly good, and Alan was unsurprisingly dreadful. But it was all very fun. I just wish mum or madison had got up and done a karaoke, because they sat in their seats singing along the whole time anyway. >_>;
Neffy fell asleep around this time and Megan and David were just about dead, quite upset that they weren't sleeping since their son was. So they left about 10pm, and mum, dad and Madison left soon after (don't know how dad managed to stay awake that long!). I had one bottle of Vodka Cruisers and was instantly ready for sleep, so I crashed at about 11pm in the spare bedroom. My alarm had been set at 3am so that I could get up to go to the office and watch Merlin and flail like a retard and I'm so glad I did because it was totally worth it.
I just feel like a bit of a scumbag for having to crash, and then getting up a few hours later to watch a television program. Way to be a terrible friend/person, Sme. >_______>;
Photos were taken in abundance, but I don't have any with me right now and I probably couldn't upload them on this slow connection. But it was nice to see everyone again. ^_^ And I had a good night, I just hope the others did too.
