Sparky!

Hmm. I just realised that I forgot to mention in my previous post that I nearly blew up the power point in my room on Wednesday. XD; It was quite impressive, I have to admit, and scared the absolute hell out of me.
See, I was charging my phone because it was about to die, but my computer was also burning through battery power as though the apocalypse was coming. I happened to be talking with both Kate and Michael at the time, while trying to go through emails and upload pictures and all that lovely stuff. I got a little warning from my computer saying "PLUG IN NOW BITCH OR WE SHALL DIE!" so I jumped down to the power point, yanked out the plug unceremoniously and tried to chuck the laptop plug in. With the power still on. Yes, I realise I am an idiot. So of course this great 'BOOM' and HUGE spark comes out of the wall, totally blowing my adapter fuse and half destroying my laptop plug. I could not help but scream, and lets just say it definitely had my attention after that. >_>; I had to log off quickly so I could save the little battery power I had while I went looking for a solution.
First I had to find a way to fix the switchboard. Of course that had to be in the most annoying place possible, in a wee cupboard in the living room - the ONLY place I didn’t check. I had to ring the landlord to ask where it was, and thankfully it turned on again without issue. *phew* Now I had to deal with plugs and adaptors … and things. D:
Thankfully, I didn’t have to walk far. I went to the computer shop that is basically down the road from me, and asked if I had killed my laptop charger. He took it, along with my adaptor plug and went to work his magic. I was kind of worried about this, coz you know how much computer shops charge for repairs. Oh well, couldn’t do anything about it once he had the stuff. So I waited and looked around, deciding that I might as well get the 10pack of CDs while I was there, since I was having trouble with hard drive disk space … again :O
Wouldn't you know it, he managed to fix my plug by just replacing the fuse (turns out I hadn't melted the inside) and gave me a British extension to use on my laptop charger, since my Australian one is now quite dangerous and practically fucked. With all that and the CDs, it cost me less than a tenner! All done in less than 20 minutes! Woot! Yay for repair shops that know what they're doing! ^0^ Those guys are officially my favourite new people in this place. XD;
So I got home and everything worked fine!! :D In the end, disaster averted and I have definitely learnt my lesson, don't you worry about that. Never again am I going to be in such a hurry to turn off a power point. Causes more problems than its worth!!

craziness
