damn, I was just happy when we found out my relatives down there were ok, totally forgot you live down there too, dude. Glad everything is ok.

Oh, I was thinking of you the other day. Can you get into California? I found out Califur is like, right next to where I live. But I would feel weird going by myself.

I can get into California, but I can't afford the cost of going to a con.

Not to mention actually going to a con. That's scary!

I know! I'm still debating with myself, but I feel like a wimp if I don't go, because the con is like 35 minutes from my house.

You're in Los Angeles? I thought you lived way up north of me. Not so close.

I'd consider going to a con one day, but I don't really have many furry acquaintances... or money. :(

Close to LA, yeah.

I really would like to go, but I fear i'd be entirely out of place. Fifty bucks or whatever is something I can budget, but I would want to spend the money to go there and feel awkward.(well, more awkward than usual.)

Round trip fare from Calexico to LA via Greyhound is like $61. Plus the con fee, food money, and I assume you'd be covering the gas and hosting. :p

I can't afford it. Maybe one day, but not now. :(

yeah, travel is a punk. There are so many things that happen in San Francisco that I would do if it were closer (or so I say to myself)

We should have a fundraiser for you. Surely some con could use a panel on all the spanish stuff out there on the internet and translation issues in general.
