Did you ever wonder what the garden-variety working-class Chinese person thinks about us here in the US? Most of our shit is manufactured over there. Some of these things are for occasions and concepts that are probably completely alien to the average Chinese.
For example, artificial Christmas, er, "Holiday" er, now apparently they are "Family" Trees, are made in China. What do they tell them over there about making fake trees?
Chinese Factory Bull: "See how decedent the Americans are? They have cut down all their tress, so now workers for the Great Helmsman must produce artificial trees so they might have some shade and remind them of the forests they once had before they destroyed them all in their capitalistic fervor..."
Worker: "It is a worker's paradise!"
Of course all this would be in Chinese, so it would sound completely different, but you get the idea.
This is the kind of stuff I think about.
