The worse excuse I have ever heard for not sending a deployed soldier a Care Package was; 'But we didn't know what he'd like." And this from the soldier's faith group.
Frankly, anything you send soldiers is appreciated. If they don't want or need it, they can always give it to someone else. There are tons of websites devoted to the topic of what to send. Just Google: "what to put in a soldier's care package". And if in doubt, one can always ask the soldier's family. The important part is that the soldier knows you are thinking about them.
With the Christmas holiday mail season approaching, it is important to get whatever you are sending in the mail as soon as you can.
The Army offers some great help and advice for mailing things to deployed soldiers. And don't forget the flat-rate boxes are free at the Post Office!
