Let me show you my doom orchid.
So not only am I leeching wifi at the Honolulu airport waiting for my family to come in, I have managed to acquire an orchid.
This is the best picture I can manage for now, from my cell phone:
There are bristles along the sides of the horizontal petals. The big blob is actually a CUP, similar to ones found in carnivourous plants.
The handy greenhouse box has a sign that says "Dendrobium", but evidently that is as specific as saying an animal is a "feline". I am trying to figure out exactly what species my doom orchid is, with little luck so far!
