I'm squeeing along with you, basically. It is so fun to watch this show. I must also note that it's a bit strainign to watch the show. I mean my manner usually to watch a show in a relaxed, laid back way. Drinking tea and maybe even going through a newspaper. That's why I usually copy eps from PC to DVD and watch them on TV. With House I have to be alert all the time, listen and think. That's why it also takes longer, sometimes I get tired mentally after one ep. I don't say the show is worse because of that, it's actually makes me respect it, and that's a LOT!

One ep that I did not liek wasthe 1st of season 2, about that deathrow convict. We can argue about moral dilemmas etc raised in that ep, but I could nto care less if he lived or died and was in a way on Cameron's side when she was angry at House.

Yesterday's ep (about the Mexican guy falling from Cuddy's roof) had it's hilarous moments when House&Gang broke into her house. And I laughed out when House said smthg like "Why everyone is thinking we have had sex?" to Cuddy in Stacey's presence. Because heh, that's what I keep thinking, too. Then I also did not get, if they cut the Mexican guy's hand for nothing? I mean, was there the wrong diagnosis after they have amputated it?

Oh I understand. This show really takes a lot out of you, and I really appreciate that. I'm the kind of person who can't really watch fluffy shows very well. I get annoyed and then I get mad at myself for wasting time. I need things (movies, books, shows, etc) to all be worthwhile so I feel better about wasting time in front of a computer screen or television.

This show really makes me think, really brings up to the fore questions about ethics, right and wrong, etc. It's really stimulating, and at the same time, it's emotionally draining.

I agree with you, the deathrow convict episode was not great. I didn't care for it, but at the same time, I totally agree with House's argument at the end, that just because his illness caused him to experience excess adrenaline that he should not be held responsible for his crimes. He should be held responsible because unlike other citizens, he could not fundamentally control his rage, control himself, and stop himself from committing those crimes.

But I think it was significant that House allowed Foreman to go ahead and testify at the trial. Because he preaches, "do what you think is right." That is a pretty big part of his "teachings" to the Cottages.

LOL, do you think they had sex? Their relationship (and at least, House's leers and jeers) oddly points to a former sexual relationship, and yet, Cuddy puts up with him remarkably well and deals with him professionally even if they did previously have sex. I wouldn't be able to do that. I think most people would be weird about it. And House loves provoking people, making them see odd connections here and there. If he didn't keep leering at Cuddy, probably most people wouldn't think they have had sex. Afterall, she is stoically professional and he is a grumpy old man.

That episode is one of the ones where I can't watch too often. I can't really bear to watch amputation stories. Especially hands. Because that's one of my greatest fears in life.

Anyways, I think the point is, they didn't come up with the diagnosis fast enough to save the hand. They had to amputate that hand at that point because the flesh was dying, and you couldn't save it at that point. Also, when parts of your body start dying like that, it can actually poison you. So at that point, the hand must be amputated. Now, they figured out the problem before the other hand would have to be amputated too, thus saving it. But yeah, they made a diagnosis, but made it too late to save the first hand.

But god, that was a sad episode.
