It could have been better...

I don't know if I would be ranting around about this but after reading (and somewhat re-reading) three issues of the Drift miniseries- I thought I would have the chance to understand more about Drift's story but my expectations were jumbled. Not that I dare myself to go to the comic review forums out there (just coz I'm sure their comments is going to be all wanky and I don't want my face go all "._." on it), it's just that I'm sure the hatred-ness of him is surely gonna increase slowly. Or is it just me being so worriedly predictable about it? I dunno why I'm saying this but this reminds when my friend †41spectrums wrote about an entry year ago that the fandom should give Drift a chance and she even indicated (and somewhat in a prophetical way for me) that if there's a "series" out of him, chances are people will surely get along with him. But alas, I don't know if I can blame Shane for it, but yes, Drift needs some good writing I suppose. Sure, just because the fandom hates Drift for shoving their throats (I usually hear this line all the time regarding him) does that mean that the guy has poor execution in terms of his story or characterization? But heck, this guy just needs some love and attention. The only good thing I found about him is his cool looks/design is the one that captured the most rather than some backstory needed for him. But I know, it's just all about the bad writing and stuff that pulled down the interests for avid comic readers. I think I should stop here in this point for now. And heck don't forget Ongoing too. But uh, bonus points goes to Alex Milne's incredible execution of the art for the least.

Now with the Drift issue 4 I'm now worriedly expecting, I'm sure there's another way for this fella to have some good execution in the nearby future. Probably if you heard about the Japanese release of Transformers United, I have a good feeling that they might do something good about this fella. Remember the Henkei manga tie-ins? I'm totally rooting for Japan this time as well for Animated's inclusion. And I think I should thank myself to the Eastern and Japanese fans for showing their utmost love for dear 'lil Drift, since I believed that they are the ones that gave this fella a good chance (and so is me).

I just wrote this in order to relieve the matter. Maybe I should even give him some good characterization but uh... I ain't a good writer too btw. Well, as the infamous line goes, "Haters gonna hate". ┐( ̄ー ̄)┌
