A meme from
mawaridi. And look, I didn't even have to change Question 1!
1. First Name
Sarah
2. Were you named after anyone?
Nope. Chinese tradition holds that it's bad luck to name a child after someone else.
3. Do you wish on stars?
Yes - it's a small, random way of marking a special moment (when you see the first star appear, like seeing the sun rise or set).
4.Which finger is your favorite?
Left ring, if I had to pick. But not by much.
5. When did you last cry?
Quite some time ago.
6. Do you like your handwriting?
Sometimes. My handwriting is hugely variable, depending on what I'm writing, how much of a hurry I'm in, what pen I'm using etc. For short notes and single words I tend to use a round-ish semi-joined printing with little kicks, particularly if I'm writing for someone else and need to be legible. For longer missives and lecture notes I use slanted cursive, with long tails and small round bodies. I like the way an entire page of cursive looks, when it's all slanted the same way and fills the page nicely. On its own it tends to look a bit wobbly...
7. What is your favorite lunch meat?
Smoked salmon.
8. Any bad habits?
General untidiness, procrastination and laziness. They're all related really.
9. What's in your CD player right now?
The Fellowship of the Ring soundtrack.
10. Do you believe in soul mates?
Yes. I don't believe in one true love for each person, though. I mean, what if they were born on another continent 200 years ago? But I think that when you find one, you believe. Knowing is about not having to ask how you know.
11. Are you a daredevil?
Not at all, I'm always the one saying "it's all fun and games until someone's head gets blown off".
12. Have you ever told a secret you swore not to?
No, but there haven't been many.
13. Do looks matter?
Unfortunately, yes.
14. Have you ever misused a word and it sounded absolutely stupid?
I remember being laughed at when I was about 13 for pronouncing "epitome" as if it were something on the surface of a book...
15. Do you think there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?
I like flights of fancy sometimes. I don't really believe in Santa Claus though.
17. Are you trendy?
No, in both the good and bad senses.
18. How do you release anger?
I ring up my ISP or telco and rant at them about the last time they overcharged me $0.03, until they give in and give me a $20 credit. Profitable and cathartic at the same time!
19. Where are your second homes?
My car is my home on wheels (which is why it always contains so much stuff!)
20.Do you trust others easily?
Yes. I have a naive assumption that individually, people are trustworthy until proven otherwise. However I have a deep mistrust of the population at large. Go figure.
21. What was your favorite toy as a child?
My brown dog. I still have him!
22. What class in school did you think was totally useless?
Religious education. All we did was draw bible pictures, and I was hopeless at drawing.
23. Do you have a journal?
Well, obviously. I have also kept various paper diaries, although I don't have a current one at the moment. A paper diary has usually been my way of expressing things that I couldn't say anywhere else. I don't have any repressed words needing an outlet at this moment.
25.Have you been in a mosh pit?
Nup, but I've been in a spa cram.
26. What do you look for in a boy/girl?
Does that mean "in a person who is not so old as to be considered a non-person", then? I don't think you can assess objective factors - a person may fit all the criteria and just be wrong, somehow. But I tend to go for intelligent, educated, able to have both a serious conversation and a good time, common interests etc. The most important factor, though, is that indefinable "click" - the kindred spirits factor.
27. What are your nicknames?
Foxe, and only my sister really calls me that. Sometimes "Sar", but I don't accept that from everyone.
28. Would you ever bungee jump?
Only when I'd done everything else I want to do in life, which means probably never.
29. Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?
I unzip my boots. When wearing runners, which is rarely, I always get them off without untying them if at all possible.
30.Do you think that you are strong?
Physically, no; mentally, yes; emotionally, sometimes.
31. What's your favorite ice cream flavor?
Charmaine's lemon cheesecake, closely followed by chocolate chilli.
32. What's your favorite color?
Blue.
33. What is your least favorite food?
The most disgusting thing I've ever had was sea cucumber, Tongan style.
34.How many wisdom teeth do you have?
Three out and one still hiding.
35. Are you in love with anyone?
Of course!
36. How many people have a crush on you right now?
None that I know of.
37. Who do you miss most right now?
Meh...
39. What are you wearing?
My new business-like suit with a lacy black top underneath... I had a meeting at work today.
40. What are you listening to right now?
Mainly typing noise, everyone is working hard (but me)
42. What was the last thing you ate?
Someone kindly donated our office a box of chocolates. I had a hazelnut praline, yum.
43. If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
I think purple, or maybe bright orange. Something that makes nice clear marks. (Anyone remember the book Harold's purple crayon?)
44. How is the weather right now?
Beautiful day, I can't wait to leave here and get out and enjoy it. Sumer is icumen in! (And I'm looking forward enthusiastically to spending a week in Adelaide, where the weather is always better and there are beaches five minutes from the city...) In fact, from today or thereabouts onwards, the days are going to get longer and the weather better, all the way through to Midsummer. Hurrah!! *does happy sun dance*
45. Who is the last person you talked to on the phone?
My credit card company, when I was trying to find out where all my money went to. Answer: I spent it :(
