In which foxe contemplates starting a travel blog
Ok you guys*, so I have decided to start a proper public blog (as opposed to my occasional ramblings and rantings on this journal, which I don't expect to be read by anyone except my friends and sometimes not even them), ie something which might be entertaining and/or useful to the world at large. In my travels these last few years, I have observed that:
a) I tend to have about three days to spend in whichever city I'm in at the time
b) three days seems to be about the right amount of time, on average, to "do" a place
c) seeing a city efficiently in three days generally requires some amount of planning and information.
and
d) I sometimes post accounts of my travels on LJ but not as regularly or rigorously as I would like
Put these observations together and viola! (or at least second-violin!) foxe's Travel Blog is born! But what to call it, and where to host it? For the first, something like "3 Days" or "3 Days In..." occurred to me naturally; but then, letters or numbers? And there is the added (though not entirely unwelcome) confusion of "3 Days In" versus "3 Day Sin", both of which have intriguing possibilities and are indistinguishable in a blog address which is all run together as one word.
It seems that at least a couple of these combinations are available on the sites I'm currently considering, with the exception of LJ (in which 3days and 3daysin seem to be blogsquatting and not actually doing very much). But should I be looking elsewhere? What are the pros and cons of other blogging sites?
