How does this keep happening? Once again I am at work feeling too tired to go home... *yawn* and I wanted to go to the gym today, too. And I haven't written any words, though I have done some editing and been to a seminar, which probably counts towards research work.
I said I'd stop posting so many memes, but I liked this result too much not to post it...
You Are Big Black Boots!
You can be best described as: attitude
You've got lots of it - and you love to give it
A guy has to be pretty gusty to hit on you
But if he's your type, you'll warm up... a little
What Kind Of Women's Shoe Are You? My big black boots are wearing out and apparently unfixable *sigh*
Thursday's Summer Solstice Selebration with Sushi and Sake Sampling went off quite well - we consumed the equivalent of nearly 2kg of uncooked rice in the form of various types of sushi, as well as 3 bottles of sake, 1 bottle of lychee liqueur, 1 bottle of apple sour liqueur (the last two went into sake cocktails) and quite a lot of other assorted drinks. I have only vague memories of sun-up, but I did wake up with very dirty feet the next morning, from having climbed around on the roof all night!
Friday's activities consisted of sleeping in, having to go to work, getting my photo taken (I am going to be in The Times, go me!), going down to Neighbour Mikey's flat for dinner and games, and then doing doors at Hazel's grunge club night, which was a lot of fun though I wish I hadn't been so tired. and weirdly allergic to strange caffeine-containing vodka-apple drink... staggered home around 2am and collapsed splotchily in bed.
On Saturday I attempted, not very successfully, to do some work (hampered in this aim by the fact that I only got out of bed at 3pm and then went out for late!breakfast) and then went to see Shrek 3, which was not as funny as the first two but did come with bonus furry green ears, which we all wore with great glee!
Yesterday I had to get up early(ish, for a Sunday) and go down to Bridgewater Hall, where Manchester Chamber Choir were contracted to perform (of all things) Higher and Higher at the Labour Party conference for the handover of PMship. We rehearsed for a couple of hours, were stuck inside the Hall because of suffocating security requirements, and then performed for about 4 minutes - and were on TV for all of 20 seconds, um, yay! Still, I can now say that I've sung on stage there, and apparently we got a thumbs-up from Tony Blair (though I didn't recognise him!!). Probably more than I'd normally achieve by 3:30pm on a Sunday... Then we went to Lee's mum's place for a "BBQ" which involved far more food than just a BBQ - or than can possibly have been good for me - and playing Risk until after midnight; and then, instead of sensibly going to bed, watching DVDs until 4am.
Hmmm... perhaps I begin to have an inkling as to why I'm so often tired! Sleep is a gooood thing; it's just that I tend to forget that when it gets to about 11:30pm or so...
Right. Must go home. So... hard... to... move...
