Grah!
- Power failure at gym = no gym for me
- Printer failure at office = inability to print out papers I wanted to read tonight
- Dial-up failure at home = inability to connect to internet*, apparently permanent, as the University has decided to disable its dial-up service, although without officially telling anybody who might actually want to use it
- LJ failure (well not exactly failure - random removal of icons) = inability even to use appropriate GRAAHRR icon to reflect my feelings about the above
However:
+ Roller shoes are love. Roller shoes and the smooth lino at my work, or the supersmooth marble floor in the foyer of The Grand, are double-plus love! (Roller shoes and rain are not so much love, but eh, can't have everything.)
+ My photos - real, printed photos that I ordered from a careful selection of the 1000 or so digital pictures I took on holiday - have arrived! Or some of them have, anyway - more to come...
+ I am now going to spend the evening looking at photos, eating soup and consoling myself about lack of gym, printing and internet by watching fun DVDs!
*The perceptive among you may note that I am posting to the internet to complain about being unable to connect to the internet. This is possible because at Lee's house, where I currently am (although where he is still not, woe alas, being in Cuba; but I have come over to check his mail. And not at all to use the internet) there is copious broadband which is not subject to the University's strange whims. Huzzah for broadband, and for boyfriends who have broadband at home and are Pretty Cool really. Even if they are away in Cuba for another 5 sleeps :)
