job

Every day I send out more job applications.  I never hear anything back.
It feels like I am bailing out the Titanic with a teaspoon.

(posted here rather than in other more popular social media because I strongly suspect that no one reads LJ anymore.  But I still wanted the catharsis of venting)

understand the frustration. Beginning to head into it myself, haven't had freelance work in a while and thinking I need to find a real job with some sense of "I will actually work this week & get paid behind it". *HUG*

I sympathize too. I was chatting with a couple local teachers who will be out of jobs when this school year ends, essentially because they don't have seniority even if they are the most qualified. One is an art teacher and will commute to some other small town next fall. Meanwhile, arts here will be taught by a friend who is actually a french teacher and also by the principal. this for the public school.

that was a bit of an eye-opener.

meanwhile, at the catholic school, there are supply teachers who have no recognized qualifications or teaching experience, and some aren't Catholic, they're local parents. I think parents can be teachers, I just don't see how this system is fair or logical. and given our rural setting, one would try to keep local qualified experienced teachers wherever possible.
