So. I've been in Kansas now since March 10th. It feels like much longer than just over a month.
Obviously I took the teaching job here.
Teaching is teaching. The schedule is different and the culture is different but teens are teens so in some ways very little is different.
It is nice to be in a house rather than the tiny little condo we had in Toronto. The house however requires a much higher level of maintenance than I'm accustomed to. Just keeping up with the mowing has me busy everyday. We're on a farm. We have more yard than some urban neighborhoods.
Cian likes the farm. He likes being able to go outside almost at will. He loves tractors.
Jeny is adjusting. At first the isolation was very hard on her but we go in to town and take weekend trips to various places and that has helped. Having a vonage phone which is still local to Toronto also helps. She can talk to her family and friends without worrying about long distance charges.
