fall break
I enjoy time off, but i'd rather get out of school a week earlier in December instead of this random waste of time. I mean there is no holiday or any reason to take off. The reason i hate it is because everything get's ruined and the momentum of time flow get's broken up.
The only good part was that they picked the worst week they could have, in terms of weather. I'd much rather be sitting home during a week of cold depressing rain and drizzle. In the northeast, the people around here suck when it rains. The drive sucks in general, and where ever you are going, tack on an extra hour of travel. It depends on where you're going but usually it's 45 minutes more to a good 2 hours. Can't exactly do anything. We got to do a lot of cool stuff. Mike came over and mom, him, and I did some fun cooking. We made this pear desert, an itallian looking soup, a peanut butter with whip cream pie, and this REALLY spicy chillie. During the week when everyone was away, i attempted Hot and sour soup. It sounded like a cool thing to make, i always have it at a chinesse restaurant. Well that turned into the worst thing ever. Working with mushrooms sucked. The damn book called for shittake mushrooms sliced. There was a slight problem with that. Those mushrooms were hard as rocks and cutting them just made them form smaller clumps. So I used them the best i could. There was also a call for 'black fungus' I don't think that's gonna happen any time soon. Any how the soup turned into this strange brew of brown color with these giant white mushrooms floating around. i knew they would absorb some of the broth but not that much. Anyway, it tasted horrible and it was down the sink with that colonary abortion.
School starts up tomorrow again. I'm actually enjoying this semester, everyone says it's the hardest. It is, but this is the best start i've had in terms of sophmore year. Much to do as always.
