Just commenting to say that I love sassy Ryan. I think I actually laughed out loud at some of his scenes with Jacob and Paul; they were very nicely done.

(Also, random: But why did Claire flip on Charlie for kissing her? The way I saw it, she figured out that he was into her, and was purposefully flirting with him. I feel like if he'd gotten close enough, her main goal would've tried to whack him over the head or something, not push him away.)

PS: Who expected Megan to get away? I thought she was dead from the moment we first saw her.

Haha, I totally agree! Ryan was hilarious in this episode. :D

I was wondering the exact same thing about Claire. I thought she was playing him. Who knows, maybe she was going for hard-to-get?

IKR? The first rule of the show is to not get attached to characters. They're playing with our feelings...

He pretty much stole the show, and in a completely unexpected way. So that was exciting.

Yeah, I don't know about Claire... Honestly, I wish the FBI hadn't picked her up so fast. I really would've liked to see her manage to get away on her own. Or at least learn some more about all the shit Charlie's picked up about her over the years.

Haha, I know. I'm sure Meghan will show up again, probably with a knife at her throat. :/ (Just thinking about Sarah and getting kinda depressed here. I loved her character. I really want to see more of her in flashbacks.)

Yeah, this could have been Claire's chance to shine and step out of that victim role. I hope she gets to be more badass in the future.

Hopefully that won't happen! (Ugh, yes. Sarah was an interesting character. She was great. I doubt that we will get to see more of her though. BUT WHO KNOWS WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THIS SHOW ANYWAY?! :D)

I think she does. I've been hoping for that, and I've read a couple of Natalie Zea's interviews, and she makes it sound like Claire will begin to take things in her own hands soon enough. She really doesn't seem to like the damsel-in-distress role for Claire, and honestly, neither do I.

Haha, I know. I really just want more flashbacks in general. I fucking love flashbacks. And I have a weird fascination with the whole what-happened-after-Joe-was-captured. I want to see more of the trial, Ryan in the hospital, etc. I also want more Jenny. If she's just a one-episode character I'll be so sad. I kind of fell in love with her in 1x04.

Now, that's a reliable source. :D One of the things that I love about The Following is the fact that character development is taken very seriously. I'm curious what will happen next.

True. Just keep the flashbacks coming, haha. There is so much we don't know yet. Wait, Jenny? Who's that again?

Haha, I agree. She actually kind of came across like she'd be pissed if all Claire was was the victim, so I'm glad they aren't doing that with her ( ... )

You're right, the show manages to keep things real. I mean, why would you create a character with a pacemaker if you then choose to ignore it for the rest of the season? Gotta love how artfully the heartbeat thing is integrated into scenes. It's subtle, just like the scene with Weston you mentioned. I also liked the moment in the last episode when Ryan just cried. Actually, all of the characters are shown as human and vulnerable, even the baddies, wich makes it so hard to dislike anyone.

Ah, of course! How could I forget her?! *smacks head* I'd love to see her again!

Unfortunately, I've seen shows that do that--create terrible injuries and then fix them off-screen. It's infuriating.

I loved that scene with Ryan kind of breaking down. That was just so perfectly placed. It was interesting; the first time I watched the episode I thought he was just upset about letting Emma slip through his finger with Joey, but when I watched it again, after seen the last scene with Ryan and Claire, I felt like he was also thinking about what he'd have to tell her when he got back and how she'd react.

I agree; it's very hard to hate anyone. I wouldn't say I really "feel" for the bad characters, but I do enjoy seeing them on-screen a lot. Maggie Kester, particularly, I loved watching. God, she was such a badass.

Yup, that's Jenny! I would love to see her again, too. I know she's fled to Miami, but I'd still like to see more flashbacks with her and Ryan. I feel like they used to be really close until Ryan's life just kind of imploded on itself.
