Well Dell finally sent me the replacement laptop. Only took nearly 3 weeks.
A bit of back story for the uninformed. I spilled a venti Pikes Place coffee into my faithful Inspiron E1705 nearly a month ago. In that time I received only one email stating they had received it back. I talked to them via their chat program and was reassured I was receiving exactly the same thing back in 5-10 days.
Yesterday the box finally came. I didn't even open it at first. I opened it a few hours later after doing some housework. I opening it up. On top inside was a bit battered xps cardboard box, I glanced inside and saw the usual cd's and junk, meh whatever, They probably just reused this box. Then I saw it. Peaking up from under the foam bricks as the letter "P", large and silver. I gasped. Holding my breath I shoved my hands into the box, ripped the brick from the foam and hoisted the ten pound nugget from it's carton.... It was a XPS. A M1730 to be exact. It has a T9500 2.6 core 2 duo, dual Geforce 8700M's SLI'ed, hardware raid, hardware phisix card, 4Gb of ram, dual 200Gb drives, and a bunch of other stuff. This machine is insane. I priced it out on dell today, if I wanted a clone of it exactly as I have it I would be sending $2700. So.. WOOT!
