So, it seems that our first choice of internet provider (Tiscali) is a complete tosser. Fortuntely, raayat has found a new provider (Be) who seems to be cool, however we are now at the mercy of BT to actually get things changed over. We have no hot water. In fact, the water coming out of the hot tap (and don't get me started on the fact that I have separate taps) is colder than that coming out of the cold tap.
