Favourites from the NYC set

The first time I went through all the pictures (706) that I took during the NYC trip, I despaired. On that first view there were maybe a handful that I thought fit for public consumption. I think I literally did cry. Fortunately, time seems to help or at least make me detached enough to do a brutal cull, and surprise surprise, I ended up with the 100 or so you see up on flickr. Not all of them are phenomenal, but they give a flavour of NYC, at least to me. :)

Still, there are a few that I'm actually really very pleased with:

this one has actually been my desktop wallpaper for a couple of months now. Not really sure why it pleases me so, but it does. I took it as we came out of Southampton on the QM II.

I took this on the observation deck of the Empire State Building. It didn't quite come out as I hoped, but still pretty fun I think.

I think this one is for my wall. I took it on 6th Ave during the Brazilian Festival. It reminds me a bit of Hassam's paintings of NYC after the war, which are some of my favourite art.

Also, Lightroom seems to be exporting a max size of 650x450 or so. Need to figure out how to fix that. . .
