In other words, we won the latest round of the Moot competition! This time through we had some really intense competition and a problem question that truly could have gone either way; that made it a battle of wits and though we lost on the law, we won on points, but only just 97-92. My partner really shone and had both his case and our opponants inside and out - even managed to cite from their bundle (effectively using their authorities against them). We both got through almost all our prepared remarks too, which is a relief and something of a rarity. I got started a bit off on the wrong foot with some unfortunate phrasing in my skeleton arguments (note to self: what sounds droll at 3am is not necessarily so in the cold light of day).

So that's very exciting, and a great way to round out the year. It does mean that we're going to the semi-finals in Jan, which is a bit daunting, but good to have that in our sights. I just hope the next problem question is something OTHER than Land Law. Seriously, seriously tired of that; boring and technical.

But, yes, riding high on the euphoria of winning (I do so like to win, especially in the face of real competition) and hopefully that energy will carry me through into those two pesky essays waiting for me. Hurrah for us!
