So those ambitious plans for the garden haven't quite panned out yet - I blame law school. Exams followed by exhaustion followed by travel followed by visitors. . .yeah so not as much time out there as we planned on, but hey that's how life goes.
In April, I did try sowing some herb seeds, but then had the horrible realisation that as stuff tried to sprout that it would look more or less like the weeds that were also trying to sprout. *sigh* So that didn't work out so well. Today I cleared that bed for the second time, and fortunately it was much less complicated since the roots were all much more shallow this time around. Also, being this late in the season, I'm thinking that planting ground cover is probably going to be our best bet until next spring; it will help choke off the rest of the weeds and give me the satisfaction of actually growing something rather than just pulling it up. Current thoughts are:
creeping thymestrawberries (is it too late for these, I wonder?)
crimson clover and/or
primrose but much will depend on what we can find. I'll probably nab a few herbs to go in a windowbox by the kitchen for this year. Any other thoughts?
