Back from Wales!
We are back from Wales and had a lovely time. For once, the trains were running reasonably on a Sunday and we got in without a hitch. schiehallion and family are doing really well. Isabel is growing up crazy fast with an impish grin and flair for colour and beauty and we are all convinced little Alex has a future as a rugby player. There was a big party yesterday evening with perhaps one of the most mixed group of people I've ever seen - landed gentry (titles and everything) mixed with bohemian hippies mixed with salt-of-the-earth farmers mixed with young professionals. raayat manned the BBQ and bonfire, I flitted from place to place enjoying the energy. The light coming through their valley at sunset was truly magical and added just that touch of surrealism to the scene. Fabulous.
Tomorrow is another work week and it has just caught up with me how fast time is flying - only 11 weeks until I am out of a job. Better get cracking on that then.
Currently reading: Anna of All the Russians, a biography of Anna Akhmatova, one of my favourite poets. Enjoying it immensely.
Most recent film watched: The Prestige, which was incredible. All of the elements came together brilliantly in what has to be one of the best films of all time.
