So, today is an excellent example of why heel height has nothing to do with comfort. I'm breaking in yet another pair of new shoes today (though I bought them in November) with a rather small heel (2") and after my normal amount of walking today, the balls of my feet are already achey. Contrast this with my boots last week with a 3" heel, which were fantastic. No pain or soreness at all. The difference? Today's heels have almost no padding in the soles, whereas the boots do. I thought briefly about putting in the half-soles for a little extra cush this morning, and man am I wishing I had. Still, they look fab on my feet and fill the perfect niche in my wardrobe (sort of a taupe, grey brown for those times when neither black or plain brown shoes work quite right). Just must remember they need a little extra help in the comfort department.
Ah well, the things we do to look fabulous.
