Oddly, I was contemplating this last night. I, being a southern girl, love iced tea (I also love hot tea ever since my trips to England/ Scotland, but this thought was was iced tea).

My mother has a home brewer (nifty little thing - I want one) and I love her tea. I also love the tea at Live Oak Restaraunt down the road. It occured to me that my mom's has a slightly minty taste and the Live Oak tea has a slightly raspberry taste. It also occurred to me that I like the subtle flavored ice teas as opposed to the obnoxious overly flavored combos you can often find at such restaraunts as Chili's like Mango Mandarin.

Neat post, btw!!

I'm in serious trouble now. I am supposed to be working on my Greek, instead I have been shopping for teas!

I finally decided to put together a bunch of sample packs. The one I most wanted was out (Casablanca Twist), but I did get:
white tangerine
oriental spice
darjeeling #22
irish breakfast
currant
kukicha
rooibos vanilla
jasmine #9

you are an evil person ;)

ooooh nice haul. Casablanca Twist is frequently sold out. I've been ordering from them for 5 years, and haven't yet been able to lay my hands on that one. The oriental spice is one of raayat's favorites and the darjeeling 22 and jasmine 9 are two of mine. With the White tangerine and jasmine, you'll want to be sure that the water is cooler than boiling, otherwise you get this really icky spinach taste from the leaves.

I adore Moroccan tea (will go to a Moroccan restaraunt just for it). Soldier's grandmother had a Moroccan tea (in bags) that was actually really good. I will ask her what brand it was, see if I can find it around here.

She loves tea, too. I plan to get her hooked on this site!

Thanks for the tip about water temp. I like spinach, but not to drink :)

I've never had Moroccan tea! What does it taste like? How is it different from regular tea?

By the way, the water temp thing goes for all loose green and white teas, and some oolong. Adagio is good about putting the water temp on the tins, so that you don't have to remember. Powdered green tea is a little different story and I don't think it needs cooler water.

It is basically green tea with spearmint and sugar. Simple, but intoxicating. So, the Casablanca Twist is based off of that which was why I was exicted to try it. The tea is quite good with a few drops of honey. It is served in beautiful glasses. And when you are sitting on pillows, watching belly dancers and eating carmelized onion couscous there is just nothing quite like it!

Hmmm....maybe I can dig up a picture of the glasses - or you can Google for it I am sure. I have often toyed with the idea of buying a Moroccan Tea set, but I figure I ought to first get a basic tea set that isn't my mothers!
