Background info: i passed my bronze lifesavers award, for water based and land based rescues on thursday evening.
What happened: today was so odd, i got to work only to find i wasn't in the same room i normally am ( i work in a resturant) . that really annoyed me.
But anyway, i was wandering around the resturant and i saw this car outside the window with a woman moter cyclist laying partialy inderneath it, now this never happs at work, and considering it had only been 3/4 days since i passed my bronze, i had to get out there and do something, i told my boss to ring for an ambulance, we i nearly did, he got there before i did, and i told him i knew first aid and i ran my little ass off, and got outside a.s.a.p!
The woman had lost consciousness but regained it after a couple of minutes, we had a nurse lady from the resturant come out and help aswel, but i was there asking the woman on the ground some questions about what hurt n well u know how that goes.
the people who had been in the car were in shock so i got someone to hold on to the ladies helmet and keep her still and get her to breath stedily and encourage her to breath with her at the same pace, if that makes sense. i maade may way over to the car passengers who had evacuated the car and rung for an ambulance and the police, so i got them all to sit down, and i questioned what had happened. they told me that they had been pulling out but there were too large vans obstructing their view so they just took the clear chance and went, the moterbike came round aswel, and they collided.
i was extatic at this point becaus ei never thought i'd get the chance to use my skill, hehe. but as the paramedics, police and various other people arrived on the scene, i was able to explain what had happpened, tell them that the motercyclist was claiming she had pain in her back shoulders, and head, and also her leg was trapped, i felt so good, and everyone at work was really proud.
The aftermath: i felt so good, but i still had to shift people away from it all, i had to search for wittnesses, i found none, apart from two five year old girls who weren't really much use, and then get the men who owned the vans to move them.
wow what a day, and i still got the piece of cake i wanted. woohoo, chocolate orange cake, mmmmmmm...yum!
