I honestly don't even know how I have this much to say about Avengers.
My life right now is pretty much divided into "things that make me almost black out from the sheer force of my anxiety" and "random fannish things."
So we're going to talk about the latter.
When Tony decides the Avengers are going to send a ridiculously over-the-top family Christmas card (YES I KNOW THE LAST FIC I POSTED WAS YOM KIPPUR FIC, JUST WORK WITH ME HERE), does he make them all pose in their uniforms, or in their civilian clothing?
And does he make them wear Santa hats, or does he photoshop them on, except for their Jewish friends, and then he photoshops on yarmulkes?
And who gets stuck writing the letter detailing how their year went?
And given their training, would the rest of the Avengers be able to intercept said photo-containing holiday letter before someone in the media got a hold of it?
I ask because normally I'd be planning to write Christmas fic, but my Avengers holiday fic this year is likely going to be one where Tony decides Stark Tower should compete with Times Square for the ultimate New Year's experience and then ridiculousness happens.
SPEAKING OF RIDICULOUSNESS HAPPENING let me tell you about my other fic ideas:
-IRON MAN: THE MUSICAL, where Tony gets annoyed that Spider-Man has one but he doesn't, and basically becomes the Paul Gross of big-budget Broadway superhero productions, presenting the Tony Stark Musical written by Tony Stark Directed by Tony Stark a Tony Stark Production and he ropes the rest of the Avengers into helping and everything is ridiculous
-MANY USES FOR ALLSPEAK which is basically ridiculous shit with Thor being able to communicate with everyone and everything and not realizing that he's using Allspeak.
-REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ASGARD (self-explanatory)
-Avengers Family Game Night, and really I don't know why people allow the Avengers to do anything besides world-saving, things end worse than when they're just trying to fight bad guys and also things are way more violent this way
-Natasha and Steve sparring with Tony fic that expands to Natasha/Tony/Steve/Pepper because
spicedrum is a bad influence
-the Natasha/Coulson, Natasha/Clint story that's basically porn interspersed with ramblings about what exactly makes informed consent and a lot of safe-worded cuddling and discussions of exactly who Natasha is and things are slightly less ridiculous but only because there's porn
-The story whose working title is literally AMY HAS A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT REALITY TELEVISION (that is actually the word document's name), where I demonstrate said feelings with a multi-part, multi-POV fic that's mostly introspection and character study and examination of public vs private and analysis of how reality television can both help and hurt both its viewers and its subjects and I've already picked out some of the critical theory that will precede each section and basically exactly what you would expect from me writing an Avengers fic about reality TV, except no one gets arrested for running a meth ring, so it's clearly not EXACTLY based off Big Brother.
So if anyone wants to discuss any of those in comments with me that'd be swell.
I have also been thinking about how, if when there's going to be a Black Widow movie, it should totally be about Yelena Belova coming to town, and Natasha kicking her ass while de-brainwashing her and also mentoring her, preferably with flashbacks to how it happened to her and Clint helped her but now she can be the one to save someone else, and she actually knows what it's like. And there are flashbacks to the Red Room. And a lot of feelings that Natasha doesn't actually express because she doesn't do that shit (CHARACTER ARCHETYPE OF MY HEARRRRRRRRRT) but you can tell they would be going on if she did.
My desire for a Yelena and Natasha movie goes double if, because Marvel's like "OH NO HOW CAN WE DO A MOVIE ABOUT TWO CONFLICTED FEMALE LEADS?", they have Ben Affleck come back as Daredevil and he gives exactly as much of a damn about this movie as he did that one (read: none), and he's all *DRAMATIC MONOLOGUE TO EVANESCENCE, WHILE LOOKING STOIC* and the women are like "Yeah, screw this, we're punching things and saving the day, from each other and/or a third, outside bad guy."
And then they hook up. Guys, there is NO FINISHED NATASHA/YELENA FIC ON AO3. I assume this is a grievous oversight in uploading or a coding mistake or something, because otherwise I am incredibly sad.
(I can't write any, because I only have parts 2 and 3 of the Pale Little Spider arc. I'm hoping to pick up part 1 at NY Comic Con. For which, btw, I have just ordered my giant stuffed porpoise so I can make it a pipe-cleaner helmet. GOD EVERY TIME I WRITE A CLAUSE I SOUND CRAZIER.)
This reminds me, in a roundabout way, that I have not yet done my Yuletide noms. I'm trying to decide on my third request and it is HARDER THAN IT SOUNDS.
