NOTE TO SELF: needs moar Avengers icons
UGH FANDOM HOW AM I IN YOU AGAIN?
I posted fic on Monday for the first time in ages (It Starts Out Like an A Word (As Anyone Can See), Avengers/Sesame Street, 8000 words) and am... pleased and overwhelmed with the response? I realize that pretty much all Avengers fic is getting a lot of feedback right now, but I'm NEVER in the middle of an active fandom. So that's super exciting and I keep asking questions like "WAIT WHAT DO I DO NOW?" I literally haven't posted fic that wasn't for Yuletide since AO3 was created. DO YOU REPLY TO COMMENTS? SHOULD YOU WAIT BEFORE REPLYING? WOULD REPLYING LOOK LIKE ARTIFICIALLY INFLATING THE NUMBER OF COMMENTS?
Fandom is hard, and in related news, I am apparently your grandma who decided to get on Facebook to see what the kids are doing these days. /o\
(I kind of want to make a post about some things in the fic that I struggled with, and that I'm still not sure worked out the way I wanted to, but that seems... excessively egotistical? There are certain fics that have earned added discussion, but based on people's reactions I am pretty sure the only other person specifically concerned with the things I have mixed feelings on with is my roommate, and that... is why we have a living room.)
Anyway, I figured this was a one-off thing, because the idea made me happy, but now I have an idea for ANOTHER Avengers fic and I do not know why I'm even considering this when I'm basically not capable of working without a full understanding of canon, you know, the EIGHT MILLION YEARS OF CONFLICTING CANON, THANKS MARVEL.
But does anyone know where I could acquire comics about Black Widow's backstory? I've read the summaries on wikipedia and in people's posts, and I want to know more. I have some library holds but they're taking forever, they're a tiny fraction of what's apparently out there, and I don't really know what specifically to look for in terms of backstory. I don't mind buying collections, but not if they aren't what I'm hoping to read. COMICS NERDS, EDUCATE ME PLZ.
