It's not even my BIRTHDAY!

You guys. You GUYS.

THERE IS ALREADY BIG BROTHER 12 CONTROVERSY.

Seems someone tweeted about their excitement at being a BB12 finalist.

Now, tweeting that she's a candidate is all that's needed to eliminate her, probably, but you know what? I totally don't care! Normally I don't get to start analyzing what they're going for in casting until names are revealed (usually the first week in July).

MY CUP RUNNETH OVER.

Well, no. My cup runnethed over when they announced that this season's theme is SUMMER CAMP, like they had psychically heard my repeated insistence that the Big Brother narrative mirrors a summer camp narrative where people grow artificially close because of limited options while also placed in a situation where they have the opportunity for behavior outside of their normal comfort zone not to be questioned.

But this is the cherry on top.

I mean, sure, "bad-ass religious woman of color who works with Dolce group" is pretty much just a hybrid of previous other contestants (I'm going with Monica meets Jameka meets Jen), but really, as long as this show's been on, characters have been identified as hybrids of other previous contestants, and that hasn't done anything except made my pre-show judgment easier. And as everyone knows, until the show actually starts and the live feeds kick up and I can start judging people in earnest based on their actual personalities, "figuring out whether they're more like characters I love or hate" is my primary fannish involvement!

Here's hoping CBS goes all out and finds an Adam-Matty hybrid who's an incoherent misogynist drug dealer, just like Adam and Matty! And then Shantrice can punch that dude in the face.
