Anyone interested in going to a concert at the Knitting Factory the first week of June? It's a Harry and the Potters concert, which apparently is nerd-popular!
I am not really interested in them, to be honest. I want to go see Uncle Monsterface. The other day, elucreh and I met a guy in Union Square who was selling portraits of sock puppets, which was so brilliant I had to get some immediately, and then he explained that the sock puppets SING, and would in fact be performing next month! I will, I guess, go alone, but I'd much prefer to go with someone.
(This is also where I !!!! at the fact that I have Things I Really Want to Do. Guys, this goes against everything I believe in. I AM PRIORITIZING GOING OUT OVER SLEEPING TEN HOURS A NIGHT, WTF?)
Never has this icon been more appropriate.

Also, if you aren't on my twitter feed but happen to be awesome, you may be interested to hear that tomorrow Jon Scieszka and Katherine Peterson will be the Barnes and Noble on 86th & Lex. I'll be there; drop me a line if I should keep a look out for you.

I have been trying to make videos of ghost_lingering's and my living room, because no one believes me when I try to explain about the sheer volume of books, and that they are all organized so specifically. My laptop's webcam didn't work. Neither did my cell phone. I found my camera, but sadly, not its memory card. I kind of feel like technology is mocking me right now.
But at some point, you will all see my bookshelves, and you will be AMAZED.

Sometimes, when I see the awesome things people do with vidding TV shows and movies, I think about the vids I'd want to do with novels.
Today this comes up because I was thinking about what an awesome vid could be made to The Hunger Games (and its sequels) to the Muppets Loews jingle, playing on the idea that it's all done for entertainment.
("Don't dance with a bear" would be the end-ish of HG. "Don't surf- there is no water" would be the mdidle of Catching Fire. I haven't yet decided what "Don't munch on a chair" would be, besides fantastic.)
My brain is an awesome place, and no one can say differently.
