First.
When did I get all invested in Cold Case? When did I hit the point where I can name all the characters- okay, most of them, and I can recognize them on sight and place the face with the personality even if not the name- and I care about their story arcs and I actively look forward to the show?
I blame stupid Tracie Thoms and her stupid ability to act and her stupid, stupid hotness. Damn her eyes.
(I am watching NCIS, too, and excited about the new ep of that- tomorrow, eee!- but that's not the fault of anyone IN the show so much as of
celli, who is a terrible influence.)
Secondly.
(1) HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATTY! Man, saying it like this, it's almost as exciting as Happy Birthday Kaysar. Except for the part where Matty's capable enough- just barely capable enough, but capable enough- to last to sequester.
(2)A slight plug for my fandom: a lot of other fandoms have many things BB doesn't, but you know what we do have? Serious arguments about who is more of a whore. As in, literally, "trading sex for money"-type whore.
BB9 is like a televised documentary about the sex trade, meets a televised documentary about really boring people.
...Yeah. The rest of this class is slightly less complimentary about my beloved show.
(3)
Assuming James goes this week- which I am, because no one is smart enough to realize that it's way better to have someone everyone hates in the f2- then the BB9 final five has the exact same breakdown as Pearl Islands did. Three women, two men, one of each having been removed from the game and then reinstated.
(We are ignoring the rest of the comparison, which I beLIEVE would make Sharon Lill, Ryan Burton, Adam JFP, Natalie Darrah, and Sheila Sandra. Even though Sheila is the most Lill-ish of the group.)
I would also like to note my growing horror as I watch Pearl Islands. I really don't hate Fairplay. I mean, he's not my favorite, but in a season without too many people who are even tolerable, I find Fairplay the best player on the island (I'm not PROUD OF IT, it's just true), and I find him far less annoying than other people on the island.
Wait, let me translate that.
I HATE RUPERT SO FUCKING MUCH I COULD STAB HIM IN THE BEARD.
Darrah's voice annoys me. Christa's voice annoys me. Lill's general existence bothers me. But Rupert is basically proving himself to be my least favorite reality contestant ever. Like- I do not even know how to verbalize this, you guys. I like Mike Boogie better than I like Rupert. I like Victorya from ProjRun4 more than I like Rupert. I like the entirety of the Friendship COMBINED more than I like Rupert. Because he has all of their smug superiority, but- well, (A) at least their alliance WON THE FUCKING GAME, but also (B) they had all that arrogance spread out, whereas on Rupert it's just one giant needy fisherman who's entirely too overprotective with his fucking spears.
Like. I am ACTIVELY ON FAIRPLAY'S SIDE.
I am on Fairplay's side because he is THAT MUCH BETTER THAN RUPERT.
This pains me.
On the plus side, Osten's afraid of everything, and Sandra's bad-ass.
Comparatively, on BB right now? I... really just want to get to the summer season. We're losing all the people who (A) are interesting, (B) are exciting, and (C) I don't hate. I admit it: I was totally wrong this year. I thought a winter season would be good for my show. It's not. It's bad. It's very, very bad. We are a summer show. I understand that now.
I can't even decide who I most want to win. I know who I least want to win- hi, Natty (and, PS- THE INTERNET KNOWS YOU WERE BLOWING MATT)- but I can't decide who I dislike the least. Like. Sharon is my favorite, but I really doubt they're going to give her the money, no matter who she takes to the f2. Adam is kind of a charming doofus, and would probably give some of the money to autism research, and he doesn't actually have any enemies in the house, but I cannot quite erase how much he squicked me out the first several weeks. Sheila needs the money most (have you heard she's a single mother?), but she hasn't won a single comp, but on the other hand neither did Will Kirby, but on the other other hand he was so clearly throwing them it was ridiculous, which makes Sheila less Will and more... Jameka. Sometimes I like Ryan a lot, and the money could go towards a lot of cheeseburgers, and I am one of the few people who do not mind that Jen would see some of the winnings, but then I remember the whole thing where he doesn't believe in interracial relationships and hates Canada, and it's harder to be on his team.
I have to focus on the positive, though:
At least none of them are Zach.
I think after this season I'm going to have to cleanse myself with some BB4. God, Ali and Jun will seem almost quaint after this season!
Third.
Why was poking around idly on Amazon the first time I learned about
Camp Reality?
You are all so very amazingly fired.
