Season 2 is even better than season 1. Season 1 gets better and better as it goes along. One Tree Hill has the most awesome so nearly text friendship that any slasher would die FOR except, apparently, no one cares about Brooke and Peyton. Anyway.

I am really kind of neutral-leaning-towards-annoyed about Peyton, at this point? But I already am kind of in love with Brooke.

She's on DRUGS right now! DRUGS! And she is adorable! ADORABLE! And when the girls are together, I don't need to pay attention to the boys at all! *hearts*

Peyton, as OTH does often, gets much better. I couldn't stand her for the first part of s1, but by the end of the season, I loved her.

Also? The girls? DO NOT STOP BEING ADORABLE.

I want to watch the show that ignores all the basketball and basks in the girlslash.

There is, sadly, always Chad Michael Manpain. And rapidly more tolerable Nathan. But OTH never ignores the girls, and their friendships are as much a plotline as any romance.

s1? Has the Bring It On "homage" "rip-off" which is awesome.

OTH, though, seriously, BASKS in the girlslash.

Also, the way that Haley is sometimes cute and sometimes looks freakishly like Summer Glau and I have to double-take.

And the thing is, there's Haley and Peyton and Haley and Brooke coming up and it stays and stays. OTH = we love GIRL FRIENDSHIPS. And when it comes to Brooke/Peyton = we write the kind of friendship that would be slashed 1800 times if the show had higher ratings.

I'm so glad you're watching it and loving it. It just gets BETTER!

Also, OTH? Gives continuity for a teen show like you haven't seen since Buffy and sometimes does better than Buffy. Continuity wise. :)

And, you know, seriously bored/appalled by others? But this is high-quality classic WB cheese like Roswell and the Creek!

Truly, it was a golden age.

It really does get better from season 1, esp the first ten episodes of season one. So a lot of bad goes away as they find their center and rehabilitate Peyton, etc.
