The writing is...

The first time you see a picture, you can definitely say if it catches your eye or not.  After a minute, an hour, a month, you can say for sure whether you like it or not. After a bunch of thoughts you can even think of buying it. And your desire to buy this paint will be absolutely sincere. It is a rare thing that people like a picture because somebody tells them this is a masterpiece. There are thousands of artists in the world and hundreds of different styles. But every person chooses his or her own fav. And sometimes there is not the favorite painter or style, but the only work that pierces the soul.

But writings are different. Unlike painting, you cannot catch a reader’s eye by a work, a writing itself. You have to attract the reader using marketing things such as colorful cover, beautiful font, paper of a good quality, advertising, popularity of the author. And each twist of the plot, each detail matters when a person is deciding whether she or he likes the work as a whole or not.

Although, a paint and writing have a few things in common. For instance, both of them have a topic and an idea. The difference is that the topic of the picture works for the picture, attracting a person and make him want to get the idea. You see the flowers on the picture and you think of the symbolism and imagine an inner world of the artist that made him create that. The topic of the writing distracts a reader from the idea. You focus on who was the murderer, not that the murder is bad and only miserable and pathetic people do this to other people.
