Update... been taking care of two darling little cats named Ferris and Cameron (lol) and they're just positively two of the sweetest cats I've ever met. Though... the minute I leave, I start to sneeze. And sneeze. And sneeze. Like my lungs were being pulled out of me, I sneeze. I'm incredibly allergic to cats. Whee. ;_;
My finger got into an accident a couple days ago. Mom asked me to cut some matches so that she could fit longer matches into a shorter box. So I start cutting away. Third match, the scissors are suddenly longer than I thought they were, so they have cut open my finger. Now this wouldn't be Big News except that.... look at your middle finger. See the blue vein there? I could see that without any skin in the way. I almost passed out. Mom was like "hold it up, hold it up!" And I was like "@_@ I can't hear you..." Ah well. It seems to be doing okay now.
Been hanging out with the Brother. We dyed his hair a few nights ago. Bleached and then used red dye. It probably would have looked better if we had used half the bottle of dye. Instead we used like 1/3 of it... and now his head is sorta flaming pink. Fuscia is the correct color word, I think. It looks pretty funky with his naturally red goatee and his dark eyebrows. The red goatee looks strange with his normal hair, too- 'cause it's dark and all. Ah well. If he likes it, it's all good. Except for getting dye all over my ducky shower curtain and ducky towel. That's not good. If they don't wash out, I think I'll cry.
Allman came over last night for the first time in like a year. Well, okay, so it was more like the first time in several months. But it kinda feels longer since he used to come over a lot. He seems to be doing well... Terri is actually treating him like a Human Being and all. He's kinda stuck as to what major to take... as Bio is v. hard at his college. He's been going to an all boys' school in Atlanta... says there's a lot of gay people there. Well duh! *laughs* He's learned to deal with that better than he has before, I think. Good for him not to get all squicky and run. Dad brought home pictures of his brain (from an MRI) last night, and Allman started freaking out about how cool they were. No wonder he's going to be a med student!
Finished Sara's, James', and the peeps' gifts last night. :) Including wrapping for the peeps' stuff. Crappy wrapping, but ah well. What do you expect from me? lol! Today is wrapping the parents' gifts and finishing Sarah's.
Dreamed I was in therapy with Eminem. lol
Got our couch yesterday. It's SO NICE. Microfiber the color of Honey's lighter fur... it's kinda beige and all. And it's really firm and puffy and just... a delight. It's one of those L shaped ones... I have a feeling I'm going to end up habitually sitting in the very middle of the turn. <3 It was the replacement to our couch that we'd had since before I was born. That one was literally falling apart. Just watching Dad get out of it in obvious pain was enough to make us change it. That, and the fact that Mom had to use the cushions for the back to sit on 'cause they were all so flat.
Kannadsuki no Miko finished. Rant on that here:
So, people on /u on 4chan have been complaining about how messed up KnM is. Obviously they've never read anything by Kaori Yuki. But that's not the point. The point is, no matter how messed up it is, the art is still good, and the ending was still good.
Basically people's beef with it was that Himeko didn't show enough reaction to Chikane raping her. I can deal with that, I guess. BUT... Chikane had accepted herself as Orochi before raping Himeko. So it was almost as if she was possessed. I think that was the defining line. She basically went insane after the priest lady messed with her head. And Himeko was therefore able to forgive her, because she felt that it was not Chikane doing those things. She said over and over "Chikane must be in there somewhere" etc. She didn't believe that it was actually Chikane who raped her.
I think the viewer is supposed to take Himeko's side in saying "that was not Chikane" so therefore it was forgiveable.
Side note, too, CCS is just about as messed up. A fourth grader engaged to her teacher? I think that's pretty bad, too. But you don't see people saying "CCS is so messed up, omg don't ever watch it- WORTHLESS!!!11one!" Wonder why that is... *cough* CLAMP *cough*
For those of you not familiar with Tenshi na Konamaiki (A Cheeky Angel), go make yourselves familiar with it. It's funny, interesting, and only about 52 episodes long. Someone's publishing the manga right now (bets on Tokyopop?), which I have not read, but the anime is still out there in BT form. It's a good series.
