Naruto

I've pretty much said all I want to say about this. But I'll say it again just because. I really think that Naruto and Sasuke are going to have to team up in the end. Despite Sasuke's stupidity reluctance. If they don't end up working together, I'll feel cheated.

Also-- what the hell, Kisame? No crying/sulking over the loss of Itachi? That disappoints me. I thought he was a somewhat compassionate shark. *sigh* I miss Zabuza.

I also want cookies if Sasuke is going to double-cross MadaTobi.

Katekyo Hitman Reborn

Fuck yes. Hibari is full of win. By the way, because of the time skip, does that make Hibird like, the oldest non-parrot out there? He's got to be over 12 years old. I have a sneaking suspicion that Count D sold him to Birds or something.

Honestly, the more I see of Lambo, the more I love him. He's such an annoyingly perfect kid. Not that he's perfect perfect... but Amano Akira made him exactly like a little kid. He's alternately annoying and adorable. Plus 20yl Lambo still makes me drool. 10yl Lambo is growing on me. I really want to know how he went from kind of pathetic 10yl to that beefsteak that is 20yl. I would love to see either Colonello or Reborn training him.

Something out of the blue that I want -- a female Bovino boss. A really busty female. Maybe with a nose ring.

After seeing more of the anime and reading through the manga again, I can really see a Yama--> Goku theme happening. I'm almost convinced that it's canon. Because either Yamamoto is in love with Gokudera, or he's a total idiot. Gokudera obviously doesn't want him around, and yet Yamamoto's like "O HEY THAR BEST FRIEND!"

By the way-- Yamamoto x Mihashi. xD

Feed

I've picked up this book for class called Feed by M.T. Anderson. It won a couple awards, but who cares about that. It's fucking brilliant.

It's basically a vision of an illiterate society where everyone is connected to the internet through "the feed" which is a chip placed in your brain. The feed pretty much functions as the internet only with pictures and sounds instead of words. The main character is pretty much an animal-- only responding to things that the feed tells him he wants. Things feel good or bad. He doesn't think about the world around him. Then he meets a girl who can read, and his little world drastically changes.

It is a typical coming of age story. Boy meets girl, girl changes boy's world, melodramatic ending. But it's the concepts that move behind the main story that really make this worth reading. It's written so badly at the start that you can barely read it. The further along you go in the story, the voice changes to reflect how the character changes. It's amazing.

So definitely worth reading if you like having your brain broken.

I was actually kind of disappointed by the ending. It didn't seem dramatic enough for me. I wanted to be weeping and gasping like I was during the Season 1 and 2 finales. The fights were not epic enough.

Of course I was happy to see Aang and Katara end up together. I really support the two of them. But I was kind of unhappy with this, too. It's obvious that they had to wrap up the love story, but it felt rushed. Like Brooke said-- It went from "OMG WE'RE GONNA DIE!" to sudden smoochies. And it just didn't seem to work. I hate to say this but I could have written a better love scene for the two of them.

Uncle Iroh's reunion with Zuko made me cry. This was the absolute best part of the finale. I was disappointed that we didn't have more Iroh in the last few episodes, but this almost made up for it. They're just so sweet.

I laughed sooooo hard at the play episode. It was the best way of doing a recap that I've ever seen. It dragged a bit towards the end of the play, but it was definitely very funny. Manly Toph = love.

OH! I'm also pleased to say that I was completely wrong. Toph did NOT die. I'll happily eat my pessimism. :3 Hooray for kickass blind girls.

07 Ghost

So there's this little series that I've been reading up on One Manga. It's called 07 Ghost, and I love it.

First off, this is the only series where I've cried in the first four chapters. I'm not kidding. I was bawling by chapter five. It's just so heartbreakingly beautiful. It was sad and sweet and amazing all at once. The characters are really moving and interesting. At least the main ones. The only one I'm having trouble connecting with is Labrador. But Frau blew my socks off.

I am in love with the concepts behind the story. The whole religious vs military thing where neither is exactly what it seems... brilliant. I like it that the Church isn't preachy and too church-like, but it's still a haven for people. I LOVE their sweet mythology about the three wishes. It makes me weepy because of the gorgeousness of the concept.

The only thing that drives me absolutely nuts about this series is the pacing. It's really hard to read. I find myself wondering what's going on. And when they're in their bishop robes, it's hard to tell Frau from some of the other guys. One possibility is that the translation is flawed, because I'm completely lost sometimes. Another is that maybe I was reading too fast.

But the art is beautiful and everything else is amazing... so it's rapidly becoming one of my favorite series. I really hope they animate it.

Oofuri

So latest translated Oofuri chapter... T_____T Hanai! Believe in yourself! That poor dear feels so overshadowed by Tajima that he's losing faith in his own abilities. And honestly, we don't want another Mihashi on our hands. I love the spin that this puts on his relationship with Tajima.

Also, Mihashi is sometimes a moron. It's like he will zero in on a couple people and the rest of the world disappears. Tajima is safe, Tajima is his best friend, Tajima is covering for him, so Sakaeguchi is inconsequential. He does this with Abe, too. Abe is safe, Abe will help him win, Abe is his catcher, so Tajima gets lost. It's really sad if you think about it.

Oofuri is my comfort food. I love this series. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy. Even if the boys are idiots at times.

God I miss Tousei. Junta and Kazuki are just so full of awesome married couple love.
