In case you've missed it over the last five years, I LOVE the lyrics meme, and will use pretty much any excuse to post one. So since I missed the party over at
sophia_helix's, here we go:
1. And her last words/were, "I'll see you down in history"
2. Now that I'm older/my heart's colder/and I can see that it's a lie "Wake Up," The Arcade Fire (guessed by

5. "You're So Vain", Carly Simon
12. Another favorite: "Break Your Heart", BNL (the live version is the ♥ est)
19. "Chicago", Sufjan Stevens
20. You are obviously trying to kill me with all my favorites: "This Year", the Mountain Goats

I ended up skipping a lot of songs, because I have a lot of stuff in iTunes that I never listen to, and my rule is that if something comes up that I wouldn't get, I don't include it. (Plus, for some reason I kept getting a ridiculous amount of randomly-selected Sigur Ros. What up, gibberish language!)
Re: #12 - but of course it was the live version! You know, those guys had their ups and downs, but when they were good they were AMAZING.
(And, uh, I may have a habit of putting on "This Year" and singing along at the top of my lungs when I need a boost.)

14. Smells like teen spirit - Nirvana.
9. Fleetwood Mac? Fuck it, I can hear the first part in my head and it's totally Stevie Nicks but the rest of it just sounds unfamiliar. And I can't think of the song for the life of me.
Ummmm... what else. I'm pretty sure 18 is a song I saw a Torchwood vid to once.
And that's it. I'm done.

I'm confident you do know #9, though. I would kind of doubt your Australianness (Australianity?) if it weren't at least vaguely familiar.

They're New Zealanders! (Watch out - the Kiwis get very snotty about that sort of thing. They'll claim CH but they insist Russell Crowe is ours).

And sadly, you folks are still vastly more likely to be familiar with CH than your Yankee counterparts. :)

But I win because I went to a dress up party and the theme was "Australian Icons" and there were three people who basically built a really small house around themselves and sort of scuffled in. So funny.
