just vodka and black tea

so the new class are great, I think I'm really gonna like most of them. I have a Korean Mormon, a stuttering Brazilian and a dashing Serbian. I got them to sing along to "I Useta Lover"- what better way to practice "used to" than the Saw Doctors? I blanked out a couple of words and got the BEST misheard lyrics! "She was on a 48-hour fast, just ______ and black tea" (water is the answer) turned into vodka and black tea... and "seduce her in the future" turned into "seduce her in the kitchen."

A whole bunch of them leave at half time for their jobs, and I have two newspaper-readers who will only sometimes do work when I ask them a couple of times. I gotta figure out my policy on that- I'm more likely to be chill about attendance if they participate while they're in class, but I can't give four hours' credit if they're only there for an hour!

I have a list of topics for my conclusion. This is a good start. I emailed Jeff what I've got of the intro, methods and analysis. We'll see what he thinks. I cut more stuff out so I've now got 7500 for the intro, 2900 for methods (1k of that is learner profiles which can be put in the appendix if need be) and 4500 on the analysis. If I can shift 1500 intro words to the conclusion and cut a bit more from each of the sections, I should be golden. I just gotta do it. Still planning to finish a full draft by Saturday, no matter how late I need to work to make that happen. Sunday's my day off with my man!

Annoyingly, I'm nearly out of phone credit and vodafone.ie's down so I can't top up online. I'd do it in a shop, but I get an extra 4 euro if I do it online, and 4 quid goes a long way.

I was at the health centre yesterday (psych lady wanted me to get my liver function tested to see how much damage 14 years of ritalin has or hasn't done) and chatted with the nurse for a bit. Got to tell her about my stress and my travel plans. I kind of wish I could stay there (apart from the psych)- I like the doctor and nurse I've been seeing all year.
