bad news, good news
no race tomorrow. the Merrimack has been flooded all week (THANKS AGAIN, noreaster) and will again be too high to row tomorrow. I'm sorry, murph_grrl! If you want to come pick me up, or tell me a commuter rail to get on, I'd still love to see you.
sara b's professor is being an asshole really stubborn about her final that happens during dad vails, so she thinks she won't be able to go. what high hopes for the semester we had. some are still there -- I think both novice boats are really starting to come together (especially since the five in each of them are the only ones left) and their rowing is improving.
Last night the belt clip on my iSkin broke. I'll see if it's still under warranty. I hate when it happens, and it's the second skin I've lost to that kind of breakage. It's a belt clip, it's supposed to stand up to regular usage as a belt clip.
meeting today with a Hiatt counselor -- I walked in a couple days ago and the girl who I had "drop-in" questions with made me feel better even about academia. Reassured me that Janet had been harsh and I needed some positive reinforcement...
also meeting with anth TA to start work on my paper. shorter-term long-term things, those I am getting good at planning out. Wow, I have a long time to work on that. I'd be really happy to get it done this early... I just have to not remind myself how much time I have before it's due.
AND, I seem to have misplaced the pills somewhere between the gym and [faculty club and shaps and] home last night.
Words on Woods and on booze with Huda when I've got time. Primary bit: I want to have the Baker's voice-babies.
