day: meh

Mar 06, 2007 17:57

good thing: saw a girl from C3 freshman year. she said she was about to ask me if I was my sister, because I looked like I'd "lost about sixty pounds." what an ego boost!
good thing: every day my confidence at work grows, although I still make a mistake or two a day.
bad thing: failed the stats midterm. honest to god, F. 14 of 40 points.
good thing: talked to the prof afterwards and explained that I was nervous and just used the wrong formulas everywhere. He said he was confused because he knew I had a quick mind and considered me one of his "good students," and this looked like someone who had no idea what was going on. I said I was worried how it'd affect my grade....
Very Good Thing: he said it won't. he said, "Throw it away, don't think about it." My assignment is just to look back on old problems as review every once in a while. I just put everything into the wrong equations and I need to learn which contexts take which equations.
quite good thing: I got a note from Sarah in my mailbox, just a cute bright notecard with some inspirational words about tomorrow's 2k, how I've been preparing for the past 4 years, and how I can do whatever I set my mind to.
baddish thing: tired during the steady states. I can pull under 2 minutes for 500s, but my steady state is still up at 2:35 to get my heart rate low enough. I did a racing start to my first piece, and THAT was glorious. Maybe I just spent everything during those 15 strokes. they were pretty beautiful.
bad thing: the branvan SKIPPED me. like, i walked towards it as it approached me, started to raise my hand to flag it, and it sped up right past me. after running for 20 yards, I stopped and called the dispatcher, who said the driver hadn't heard that stop in his list of stops. So I walked, to the tune of Magic Carpet Ride. bleh.

Currently 11deg; feels like -9. I have to walk to CVS in this.

and the radiator's sloshing again.

weather, good day, classes, apartment, bad day
