don't let the spacebugs bite
after not updating for two days, suddenly it seems less urgent to update today. however, I must keep the calendar pattern going, and I do have a couple of (un)important things to say.
The second night of auditions went really well. All told, we invited five to callbacks, though only four accepted; one of the girls got into UTO first. Speaking of get into, Jake was cast as Cinderella's Prince and is also a new member of Voices of Soul, although RBG wasn't good enough for him. Also, Baker's Wife went to the director's twin sister. Nepotism or no (I think no), I stand no chance against J Butter. This makes me feel better.
Thursday I met with Janet and we started a schedule for my independent study. Also I went into town and had dinner with Zach; the Burren serves a good Guinness. Yesterday was fine enough; the stats prof is great because he wastes time by talking too much. He spent a good 8 minutes on the birthday problem in our class (you know, the probability that any two people in a room will share a birthday). come evening, I saw The Prestige up in rabb (GAH.), then to larissa's for hanging and Keeping the Faith with four people snuggled in noah's dinglebed. I fell asleep because I've been exhausted all week.
Today was lazy. Woke up after too little sleep. Yogalates helped a lot with my soreness, although now my abs are killing me. This evening I was pulled along to dinner with the wife and friends. now I'm back in front of the computer watching Firefly and maybe looking at some library books to formulate that "rough idea" of a thesis I need to have by next Thursday. that's my life.
I think I'm taking the first bus into town tomorrow and coming back on the next one. I can get some stuff done in an hour and a half. I want to spend my giftcards at Downtown Crossing, and more importantly I'd like to take Harvey to the Apple store at Cambridgeside because he has a problem. Every so often, I'll hear a click and the song will stop playing. The play icon will still be going, but the playback stops progressing. It takes a reset to fix it almost every time. They'll probably just give me a new one, but I'm prepared. A hypothetical new iPod'd be named Harvey II (Twoie for short).
