behold, the power of red stripe

tired an' twitchy.

went to taco night and had the loveliest combination of beer and tacos. now i feel SO full. this morning i was 134.... it won't be so tomorrow, i can tell. but that's OKAY for now. til next saturday, though, a consciously fruit-rich and grease-free diet.
turns out i don't actually have to worry too much about weight this fall. at head of the fish, they only weigh the winning boat, and they do it after the race (to make sure they went about it healthily). clearly, this just means we have to win it so we can get weighed. at the same time, i'm confident that i'll be fine in terms of weight no matter what.
as for this morning, i stroked the eight. bow four didn't understand NOT RUSHING. we did 2 2min pieces at the end, though, up at a 30 that had some ratio. Nice. New lineup means new grip on the oar, though, and new blisters-under-calluses all over again (this time all on my inside-hand webbing).

also today: ling meet the majors with ice cream and JANET (omgsqueeee) who does still seem invested in my senior independent study! AAAAAAAAAND, Henrietta showed up near the end and we talked to her so much. Between Sophia (who I've now met), Lotus, and Henrietta, the seniors' self-confidence in grad school admissions may have been boosted by a few tenths of a point.
then Jeff (who's in town to race in the Charles) came by, had ice cream, and we chatted a little while after that. I called efg while he was in the middle of airport security lines (sorry about that!), and by the time he could call back I was inside the gym with no access to a signal (or my phone, for that matter).
the next thing of import was TCFI, which was on crack. also, I finished (again) The Golden Compass. oh, my heart. then was taco night (good times with the_otherone, septicidal, and dreamsthatfizz).

ling, friends, taco night, crew
