I BEAT BECCA. Not just in weight-adjusted time. In real time. Yeah, that felt more than a little awesome.
Before it started we all had to wait half an hour while another team finished relays on the ergs. And then we were part of the second wave to go. That was difficult -- but we persevered! And I got to listen to Beeth9Mvt4 to chill me out when the stress got unbearable.
Also, today I learned that Mark (the volunteer coach) plays mandolin. A bajillion points for him. He's 23, and on the way back me and Sarah and Jaime discussed how any one of us could totally be in love with him. He's adorable and sweet -- a little tall for my tastes, but good for Sarah!
Oh, baaaaaad us.
Waiting for Ellen's email. Waiting, waiting.
and stocking up on food during the day. like a cheekful hamster or a falltime grizzly bear.
Quote Of The Morning:
(Nomi pours too much salt into her hand.) "Too much salt... oh well, I'll use it as a garnish."
I'm on so much crack that I couldn't get over that funniness. It really isn't that funny, except to me.
A few minutes later, I say: "Can I throw out the rest of these chips? There's really not much left... unless you want them as a garnish...." It'll be our joke from now on, we think.
Right now I'm achy like I'm friggin' exhausted (which I guess, by rights, I should be), and my knees are bugging me. We have a half-hour steady state stretch-out workout that I'll smush between classes. I feel like I'd feel better for doing it. And I'll be fasting tomorrow and thus, not exactly a good time to work out. Yep.
Till class, nappity!
