man oh man.

I couldn't wait any longer. I bought my new baby. The green journal. The elf journal. I think Grant may envy me. Clay might, too. It smells rather too strongly like paper... but it is amazing and I am in love with it. I can't wait to start putting things in it, which means a trip to Michaels (or maybe a cool art store in Boulder?) tomorrow. Also, I think that time in the fresh air, out of its plastic bag, will mellow the perfume. The pages are soft like cloth or well-worn money. Also, a book that I've seen around the bargain tables since last summer finally went for 99c, so I splurged. "Think You're the Only One?: Oddball Groups Where Outsiders Fit In." Contains such entries as "The Society for Prevention of Shopping Cart Abuse," "The International Gnome Club," "Mothers Against Peeing Standing Up," or, my new favorite, "The International Jewish Conspiracy." How about the Luxuriant Flowing Hair Club for Scientists? Also, there was a 32-page sketchbook going for $4 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art store, and it had a van Gogh painting of irises on the front, so I got that. The paper feels smooth and crappy, but... 4 bucks. And it's pretty.

I have a headache. I got paid today. and it rained. I watched Mean Girls and enjoyed it. Of course, any quirky-and-enthusiastic type with a thoroughly fabulous best gay friend is just bound to appeal to my sense of nostalgia.

guess it's bedtime. PT at 9am tomorrow, and I am to drop the babysats off somewhere by 2pm sharp, which means only three hours of babysitting! Then (because nanerean is TEH awesome) a so-dubbed "Frankie Friday" in Boulder with him, the famous Katie, Julie, perhaps Mike, and who knows who else... including evening, night, and Saturday morning (at least). A quality way to relax from this week, I think. And, despite my best thoughts and efforts, a means to blow an eensy bit of the check I just got, as well. (Of course.)

And, getting the van Gogh sketchbook does not by any means mean that I'm not getting one Ex Libris Anonymous journal or another. I mean, at the very least, Clay's. And also mine. Cat in the Hat or Russian, I think. And leaning more and more towards the Russian. Vincent's only got 32 pages, after all. 'Sides, it's totally cheap and crappy and I want an awesome one that's more than just pretty.

weekend, journals, random
