Have anything filling? Something that puts real weight in the stomach? Between Disney World's bland sugary crap and the Sphere's tasteless slop, I feel like I haven't eaten in a week.

Aww, Wolfram. She can kind of relate. fourplusnipples May 25 2010, 14:25:47 UTC
I can think of a few things we carry. I don't blame you for not filling up down there. If you stop by the store today, I'll try to help you out.

You're new, right? I don't recognize your handwriting.

I have plans today, but are you open after nightfall?

Yeah. I'm Wolfram.

We aren't usually, but if I'm feeling kindly disposed, it could be arranged. Got a busy schedule today?

Haha. Yeah. I imagine that won't go well. xD bumpychampion May 25 2010, 19:31:23 UTC
Yeah. [Liarrrrr.] Ten o'clock?

Maybe it won't be so bad since he's not as suave as Discworld vamps...mostly fourplusnipples May 25 2010, 19:42:26 UTC
I can manage ten o'clock tonight. Just don't make it a habit.

Deal.

(OOC: Log? Quicklog? Handwave? With either logs, I have to head to work here soon, but it's only a four hour shift. Just a heads up about the impending tag lag. xD)

See you then.

[ooc: Quicklog? I don't mind slow, Elsa's not so active that not knowing the outcome in real-time would be a hindrance.]

[Wolfram had slept most of the rest of the day and, when he did wake, passed an hour simply waiting for the rest of the sun to go down. When it was time, his trip to the bazaar was done in the general peace of a late night crowd (or lack thereof). He still hadn't managed to find the time to get new clothes, as he had spent most of the last few days recovering from his first exposure to the sun, so she'd see him in what looked like white medical scrubs heading her way. The closer she got, the stronger the smell of burnt, faintly cooked flesh would become.

Although he was still mostly in the dark, he found no reason to squint to see her.]

Elsa?

[When he did step into the light, she'd see the reason for the stench. Although it had all but healed away, she'd still see the occasional blister on his face, on his arms.]

[Elsa was not going to extend this courtesy to every newborn who couldn't manage his or her own schedule-the boss could take on the extra hours if building goodwill was so important-but Wolfram hadn't been demanding about it, and she'd been re-organizing the stall in the wake of the ant invasion, anyway-a few more hours after official closing time would help with that.

She was checking the produce for bruises when she smelled him, half a minute or so before she heard his voice. Meat. But ruined with fire, and human...or...she wrinkled her nose in disgust. It was something familiar, and not animal, but not quite human.]

Wolfram? I'm over here.

[Just who or what had she agreed to meet?]

[As Wolfram neared Elsa ever closer, he recognized the tell-tale signs of discomfort, of suspicion and wariness upon his approach. It wasn't the first time he had brought such a reaction out of someone, but he was starting to grow a little tired of it. It showed in a slight lilt of annoyance of his face as their eyes met, but he tried to repair it just as soon as it appeared. After all, she had stuck around to do him a favor and here he was giving her a tame version of the evil eye. It wasn't exactly condusive to a positive relationship.]

Thanks for doing this. I don't know how much longer I could go without some actual food in my stomach.

[A pause as he looked over the available options. He could smell all of them, could smell which ones were ripe and which ones were less so, which ones had been close to the others or which had been moved, and none of them seemed very appetizing. His stomach growled in protest and, losing his hold on his usual composition, he tried to mask the disappointment on his face. The lack of enthusiasm in ( ... )

Sure. It's not a problem.

[Her tone was guarded now, her words slightly clipped. There was something about this man that set her hair on edge, and to her shock, she found herself wanting to Change so there would be a lot more hair. Which was stupid; he was a customer, and a newborn, not a threat.]

If you're looking for something filling and not too expensive, these are good. [She nodded to indicate which she meant.] Add some oatmeal or muesli, and it'll line your belly. It shouldn't be too hard on you if you've a sensitive one.

[When she stepped closer to Wolfram, her eyes widened and then narrowed. She knew this scent. She didn't know how, but she did. And while she didn't yet have a name for it, the closer she got, the easier it was for the wolf side of her to make an important realization: he didn't smell like a living animal, something that could be food if it came to that. And everyone did.

Every human.]

[ooc: sure thing! /goes to do]

[It was no longer simply her body that was telling him she didn't trust him. The way she spoke, the way the words tersly puffed from her lips, it said more than the actual syllables themselves. Though he tried to pay attention to her gestures, to the names of the food and the advice that came along with them, he couldn't help but be absorbed by every subtle change in her ( ... )

[Elsa knew she was being foolish by showing her disdain even as much as she did. Most people weren't all that perceptive, but who could tell with this one? The boss would clock her one, or want to.

Control was the key. It was the reason she didn't go eating the wrong kind of creature or chickens off the farm without paying. It was pretty good for customer service, too. But something about this man brought out the animal in her.

She did raise an eyebrow at him when he caught the box, his arm moving fast enough that most people wouldn't have seen it.]

You're a quick one. Think you were an athlete before you got here?

[She eyed the items he held and named a price. A fair one, even if she didn't particularly want to sell him anything now.]

[ooc: sorry for the delay! It's been a hairy couple of days for me. No pun intended.]

[He thought about the question, but although it didn't feel particularly familiar, he couldn't dismiss it one way or the other.]

It's possible.

[With the price mentioned, he pulled the coins from the small pouch in his pocket and laid them out on her stall with a little extra. He tried to give a friendly wash to his expression to go along with the tip, but she had him too on edge to succeed.]

Thanks. Again. For staying open, I mean.

(OOC: Nice pun, intended or no. :D And no worries! I'm patient~.)

Sure. A courtesy for a first-time customer. You'll have to talk to the boss if you want to make a habit of it, though. I've got things to do.

[She'd tried to sound a little more welcoming rather than completely cold, but all it did was come off as flat, disinterested. And that part wasn't true--she was very interested in who this person was and why she was reacting this way.]

That'll be all?
