Yes, another phenomenally crazy week has ended. Actually, it was a great week too. I'm trying to think back on it...
I volunteered with my Hispanic kids on Monday, spending a least an hour with my favorite little boy, Celso. Tuesday my grammar class ate dinner at my prof's house. I attended a modesty panel afterwards (8 guys telling a room jam-packed with girls "how tight is too tight" - surprisingly, it was really good. They had some great points about where our focus, as girls, should be.
Wednesday found me meeting with the Professor of Journalism here at Cedarville, and another career path change. I'm still an English major but now with a journalism concentration. Later that evening, my grammar group met and filmed some footage for our Friday presentation. And even later, some of the girls in my unit were teaching me the "right way" to get into my top bunk. Here I thought you were supposed to use the ladder on the side. Apparently, you make a mad running leap/haul about 4 feet into the air. So we were practicing this at about 1:00 am in the morning.
Thursday was the highlight of the week: E.J, Zach, Kaleb, Jason, and Kwal drove out to spend Thursday night, Friday, and most of Saturday with me. We had a fantastic weekend! We played a lot of pool and ping-pong, put together a puzzle, ate a ton of food, and they got to come to class with me on Friday (just in time for my grammar presentation :). Friday night, they took me out to dinner, Steak 'n Shake, and a movie, Ice Age 2 (which, I might add, rather surprised me with how good it was). My friends here quite enjoyed meeting all of them too :)
So they left this afternoon, and I worked this evening at Chuck's. They trained me to make pizzas - yeah, I know that's scary. I had to work with this huge knife and really hot ovens. But I guess I did pretty well, because the manager pretty much offered me a regular job. And people ate my pizza:)
So as I'm standing behind the pizza counter, and I saw this guy with make up on - I did a double take, and yeah, he really did. Oh my word, cross-dressers at Cedarville? Needless to say, I was confused. Then I saw another one! Doubly confused, I finally remembered that Romeo and Juliet was playing tonight!
Wow.
Five weeks left of school...it just blows my mind how much I like it here. I mean, obviously, there's some things I hate about this college, but I'm beginning to just fall in love with the people out here.
