Yesterday has to be one of the funnest New Years I've ever had! I kicked off the day with a five hour shift at IGA, but it was my last day. I was a little sad because I love Saturday mornings at IGA (because that's when all the fun old people come in:) But Tom Fehr invited me down to the Fehr Brothers' customer appreciation lunch at the welding shop. I wasn't going to go, but I did. I had the best bowl of chili that I've ever had. Picture this - me, eating lunch in a welding shop with dozens of elderly Roanoke farmers - ah heaven! Plus I got to sit by my Grandpa and Walt Fehr (and across from Jim Wiegand:) Grandpa told me all about our family tree - I'm pretty much related to all of Roanoke.
Went home and took a nap. Woke up to Kaleb insisting that I go out and see his new CD player (that he and Zach somehow managed to install. Scary.) So Zach came out too and the three of us sat in the front of KB's car for about a half hour, listening to "classic country." Then Jason pulled up randomly and he hopped in the back for awhile.
Went back inside to get all dolled up for a square dance, full skirt and all. It's random, I know, but it turned out to be one of the best New Years I've ever had! Cass met me at 7 and we drove over to Hudson Town Hall. I danced the night away with old men! Actually, some of them were super bad dancers, but I still had so much fun! My friends Jessica and Hannah both played in the old time band. At midnight we sang Auld Lang Syne. Later we stopped out at Ducky's and Kaits. Ah fun times!
Farewell 2005!
