Andale, andale! Arriba, arriba!

Oh my, where to start? Well, I arrived at ICC about 8:30 this a.m. (and almost hit Matt's big white truck! Oops!), and boarded the bus for Chicago's Mexican Fine Arts Museum with the rest of my Span 210 class. I sat by Yolanda, a thirty year old black lady who always looks like she stepped out of the pages of Style. Honestly, today she told me that she has a separate room for her clothes and shoes! Anyway, she's Pentecostal, and we had a great discussion about speaking in tongues. "Mental note" - I need to study up on what I believe on that. I really couldn't back up my beliefs very well.

We arrived at Lalo's around 12 for lunch. No joke, it's probably the best, most authentic Mexican restaurant I've been to. Las flautas de pollo son excelentes! I sat by Ju-wan; let's put it this way, it was interesting:) (He wants me to ask Natalya how to say 'fart' in Russian!) Next, we went to the Museum and had a tour highlighting las ofrendas, memorials to the Hispanic dead for Dia de los Muertos. After a short tour, our whole Spanish class hit downtown Chicago in search of la Panadería. It took us a while, but we found it. Before we boarded the bus, we hit the coffee shop. Eric, Matt, Ju-wan, and I went in search of something cheaper - and I found green tea for 99 cents!

The bus ride home was fun, but I'm beginning to feel sad. I'm just getting some friends at ICC, and I'm transferring! Go figure. Oh, and I guess I'm third cousins with Matt. Don't worry, he's from Eureka. I would be a little worried if I was starting to be related to people from Peoria. I have officially decided that I'm not marrying anyone from Woodford County, or has ever lived here, or has family who have ever lived here. I think someone needs to start a "Inbreeding Prevention Registry" so we all (especially those of us with Apostolic roots:) can find out who NOT to marry.

So the ICC bus went right through Roanoke, so I asked the driver to drop me off at Susie Q's (I was extremely late for work!). As I got off, the whole bus yelled, "Adiós Rebekah!" Makes me feel special, sniff. So I went on in and had a grand time with Sue, Amy, and Michael. Michael and I topped the night off by going back and forth quoting Homestar Runner while we were doing dishes. I love people with dumb sense of humor like me!

Thought for the day:
If Cheryl dressed up as a "nudist on strike" for Halloween, what is she wearing today?
